Twitter Professor Building Westchester Twitter Community

TwitterProfessor.com has been actively promoting Westchester NY's local Twitter community for several months, and the results are beginning to show. Articles published in the past week generated a positive reaction in the local Twitter community, and have led to a noticable increase in follower numbers for many Westchester NY Twitter users.

The article Top Ten List for Westchester actually featured 31 prominent Westchester Twitter users, and was retweeted and commented on more than any other TwitterProfessor.com article to date. Many Twitterers used the list as a way to add quality followers on their accounts. Some even went to @ContentHarvest (TwitterProfessor's Westchester Twitter account) and followed large numbers the accounts ContentHarvest follows.

"I think the results have been encouraging," said Chris S. Cornell, who manages TwitterProfessor.com and ContentHarvest, as well as several other websites and Twitter accounts. "The goal of all this is to promote Twitter in the local community, and I think that is what is happening." Cornell was quick to point out many of the other Westchester individuals and organizations who are leading the way in the effort. "There are so many people doing such a good job in this new social media, and I've highlighted their efforts in the article. You can see what they are doing by clicking on their links at the TwitterProfessor.com site."

Another article, Why Don't More Restaurants Tweet: More Community Building on Twitter, focused on the small number of Westchester restaurants in Westchester that use the free social media tool, Twitter. Cornell's article listed each of the restaurants he was able to find on Twitter, and included links to each of their Twitter accounts.
